KMEA College of arts and science ,Kuzhivelipady has established an Equal Opportunity Cell to help and Empower the students, disadvantaged due to Gender Discrimination,physical disability etc. and to make them participate fully in the Academic, I ntellectual ,Social and Cultural life, on an equality basis .The discrimination against any students in the Instituition on the ground of their Dis-ability, Physical Limitation, Minority Status etc. are treated as a matter of high concern of the Cell, aimed at timely solving the Grievances and Complaints, arising from such Aggrieved students from time to time.

VISION

To oversee the effective implementation of policies and programmes, for the Other Backward Community students and to act as a source of strength, by providing timely Counselling and Academic Assistances, in order to achieve equality and social justice.

MISSION

To equip the students ,for facing challenges in the Modern Economy and to solve any Grievances and Complaints arising from such students, through the Redressal Mechanism,during the period of their studies with in the Instituition.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CELL

• To adopt and implement Harmonized Guidelines and Space Standards, for barrier free built environment ,for all, so as to eliminate all sorts of discriminations or harassments among the students.
• To look into the gGrievances and ensure Equality in the campus through implementation of policies and various programmes.
• Safeguard the Interest of the students ,without any prejudice to their Caste, Creed,Religion,Gender and Disability.
• To raise Awareness about the various Social issues that Aggrivate In-Equalities in the Society as a whole.

THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES OF THE CELL FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR

The CELL is committed to aid and advise the students belonging to the Marginalized Section of the society and to overcome problems and barriers emanating from discrimination at any level within the campus. The future programs of the cell are;

(1) CARRIER GUIDANCE CLASSES

The aim of this Coaching class is to provide Extra-Coaching for :-

• U.G.C - NET Examinations.
• P.S.C./ U.P.S.C Examinations. etc.

(2) PERSONALITY AND EMPLOYABILITY DEVELOPMENT

The objectives of this kind of Programmes, is to organize Programmes relaing to Personality Development , Facing Interview etc.

(3) ART EXPO

With an aim to provide Rightful Opportunities to all, the CELL has planned to conduct an EXPO, in association with the Language Department of our College.
